Russian minister: Date, place of oil freeze meeting not set yet
MOSCOW, Mar 9 (PRIME) -- A date and place of a meeting of oil producing states, including OPEC and non-OPEC countries, have not been set yet, consultations continue, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters Wednesday.
Bloomberg reported earlier on Wednesday citing Ecuador’s Oil Minister Carlos Pareja that the meeting would take place in Russia on March 20–25.
Novak said earlier in March that the meeting could take place from March 20 until April 1 either in a Russian city, or in Doha or Vienna.
In February, Novak agreed to freeze oil output with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Venezuela. Some other countries joined the initiative, while the U.S. and Iran refused to participate.
